Month #10 Has Started
Monday, October 2nd, 2023 11:38 amI am sure that it was only a short while ago 2023 was starting ... in fact it only seems a couple of years ago we were all talking about what we were going to do to celebrate the Millennium.
Not that it is a sign I am getting older ... time can fly when you are young, as well!
The weekend went well.
The Church I go to celebrated it's 90th birthday ... I wonder if in 10 years they will get a telegram from the King?!? So, we delayed harvest until next week. When I was a kid it was always fresh veg that was brought in for local OAPs, and care homes ... now it's tinned/packaged food to go into one of the food banks. Brilliant, but heavier to carry in ... and it doesn't look as pretty on the display at the front of the Church.
Speaking of the time of year, it is my turn to pick the challenge over at![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
photo_scavenger and I chose "Autumn" ... then I went to get some stuff out of the freezer in my shed, and spotted these spider's webs. I really don't like spiders, but their webs are truly. truly stunning.
This photo is one of the roses from my special rose bush ... it's not had a particularly healthy year, which was worrying after 80 years ... but it looks as if it is still fighting back ... so beautiful, even as the flowers are fading.
I have signed up for a couple more icon challenges, So I need to sort out the images I need to work on. One prompt is "black & red", and the other is "accessories" ... so, let's see how that goes.
Right, before I start that -
2 – World Architecture Day: Are you a keen observer of architecture, or do you mostly notice it when you see architectural oddities, e.g. a particularly ugly building, or a very unusual house design — that sort of thing?
Will admit, I am a traditionalist. I love Church architecture … in England we have some amazing buildings. However I also do love to spot some special tiles, or decorations, that some properties have.
The hospital I work in has a newish medical school building, that I hate … and whenever I have to go in it for lessons I still manage to lose my directions inside.
Right, let's get on x
