Another Bank Holiday ... So It's Raining
Monday, May 8th, 2023 11:57 amYes, a very traditional thing in England. Today the King had asked the day to be a day of volunteering, and I will admit I am not doing anything, however I do hope that those who have do well ... and don't get too wet.
Coronation Day was great, despite struggling with the ankle injury and the chest virus I had. I wandered over to Tim & Claire's early and 2 of my nephews had arrived the night before (and were still in bed!), my other nephwed arrived just as we all settled down to watch. Nick had decided not to go and Brenda decided to stay with him.
So we saw history ... and drank champagne and ate biscuits, then had "high tea" about 4, before heading off (Andrew & Jesse gave me a lift when they left as the others were settling down to watch football!). So it was fun, and a great celebration ... and here are a few photos of the day -

Playing "pin the diamond on the crown"

And, finally, Brenda shared this photo of Ollie ... obviously standing to attention for his King

Right, so that was a bit about my day - hope you all had a good one, as well.
Now, I need to get something sorted for lunch, and see if I need to go shopping before then (hope not). So, will close here with -
6 – International No Diet Day: We usually associate a diet with an attempt to lose weight, but many have to follow special diets for other health reasons. Do you, or have you ever, followed a specific diet? Has it, or did it achieve what it was meant to do?
I have a couple of major, but odd, allergies ... but have never dieted.
7 – World Laughter Day: is there anything, or anyone, that is almost guaranteed to make you laugh? How would you describe your sense of humour?
Quirky
8 – Etiquette Week: the first Monday of the second full week in May marks the beginning of national etiquette week. Are there any social conventions you wish would go away, or that you wish would come back (or be observed by more people)?
There are a lot of things I wish could return ... I mean, it would be great for people to actually say "thank you"
Will be back later to catch up with you all x
