It Must Be A Weekend ... The Sun Has Gone In!!!
Saturday, February 11th, 2023 10:58 amSo much for my plans - I had aimed to actually "go" somewhere and have a nice walk ... but although I shall have a walk in a moment it won't be as long, and it will be local. Oh well, still it will be nice to get out and about for a short time.
I have a cake in the oven - a chocolate one. The weird thing is Mum used to make a chocolate cake regularily and although I have all her recipe books I haven't worked out which was the recipe she used. Or, maybe I am using the correct one, and just not as good a baker as Mum (who was amazing at making cakes rise, and taste truly scrummy).
I didn't get the ironing done, in the end, so a task for when I get back from my stroll.
Now I must get the drying-up done and packed away before I get the cakes onto the cooling tray ... so am off. But before I turn off the pc ...
11 – Make a Friend Day: How easy is it for you to make friends? Do you have many casual friends, or just one or two close friends?
Very few friends of any type. One very close friend, and a few good friends. But that's about it - although I work in a friendly atmosphere I never get asked to socialise when they go out as a group.
12 – World Marriage Day: In your opinion, is marriage an outdated institution or has it stood the test of time? Should we seek to preserve it, or might there be a better alternative for committed couples?
Sorry but I am old-fashioned. I like to see the committment. And, with my faith I don't like the concept of sex before/outside marriage (although I suppose personally I have never met anyone who has made me test that theory!)
Have a great weekend - will catch up with you all on Monday x
