Mid Week Again

... And, so another week is rapidly dissappearing ... and therefore so is the month.  I know this is the shortest month of the year, but I think there must have been some days missing somewhere along the line, as I can't believe today is the 26th!

Work went well, again - although hectic.  The car park machines were still down so I think there are going to be quite a few people who will get fines for un-paid bills.  Sadly I always use the phrase "not user-friendly" to describe the private company who runs the car-park.  It's not unknown for someone to pay (& keep the receipt) but still get a fine for an un-paid ticket.  However it takes them ages to clear that up.  So I think a lot of people will see that the machines were off, and think that the whole system was down ... no, there are cameras everywhere.  So I had no problems at all clearing car registrations through the system.  Part of our regular work is to clear people's cars with disability badges, and similar, as they get free parking.   Mind you, I also get frustrated when people try to use someone else's disability badge to get free parking.  What a lot of people don't realise is that on the reverse of the badge is a photo/name etc of the entitled person.  So I flip the card over, ask where "that" person is, and then wait for the vague explanation.  Quite a few peopl then get abusive when I say they can't use the badge.  But, you wouldn't use someone elses passport, would you?

Rant over!

I have the day off today, and when I woke up it was raining.  So, I thought "typical".  But, no, it is brightening up nicely.  So I shall try and get out for a walk later.  Spring is starting, so I shall see if I can spot any of the lovely spring flowers.  They are always so bright and cheery, aren't they?

Well I can't think of anything else exciting, so -

26. Are you a fan of opera?
I love some of the music.  We used to play it in orchestra.
Some years ago I went to visit friends, and they said that there was "The Magic Flute" on, with one of the large National companies.  As I do like a lot of Mozart's music, I said that it would be nice.  However it put me off opera!  The hall was circular, with a small central stage, and the cast were all in body suits, or similar.  They sat among the audience and at first I thought someone was heckling.  They also did it half in English, and half in German.  Apparently it was meant to make it easier to relate to ... but it failed me, totally!

Wow, I seem to have had a bit of a moan today, don't I?

Hope you are all doing well - I aim to catch up with you soon
