Another Good Plan


Watching, waiting, wondering.

Would tonight be the night that a big bad took out his slayer.  She had already lost the fight once, and come very close again recently, yet she still went out every night.

Try as hard as he might, he couldn't stop worrying.  She faced so many dangers and now had the constant worry about her mum.  It didn't seem fair that with everything else Buffy faced, she now had this additional concern.

If only he could help more.  Maybe just being there to take out her pressures on.

Spike, the "punching ball" sounded like a good plan.

I had a day working in clinic today and had an hour at lunch when it was quiet, but I had to sit at the desk - so thought i would use my time creatively. In the end I don't know whether I am happy with how it turned out - What do you think.

Life, A Changing Path

Everything was simple.

I was a wife and mother. Then somewhere along the line, things changed.

Simple became hard.

My cheating husband left and we moved house. My daughter made some strange friends and she left for a time.

Finally life became easy again, although I realised that my daughter’s life was impossible.

Yet again life is getting hard.

One of my daughters isn’t quite mine and the other girl is finding college life tough. And, now I may have a “something”.

Maybe we just have to remember that the hardest thing in this world is to just keep living.

My leg is slowly getting better - I can now "run" (slowly) upstaires ... so good to know.  Trouble is still slopes and it's a short hill up to work ... but I have my crutch which is helping immensly.  The office have been great at finding me easy shifts, so a good week work wise (at least it will help some of the bills)

And, I wrote a drabble today - totally un-beta'd, and not great ... but I do want to get back to scribbling.

Anyway - here it is ... feel free to ignore.



Chosen, for one good day?

Chosen as a cheerleader.
Chosen as a May Queen.
Chosen to be "The One".

Why me?

The outfits used to be cute, and all that I had to worry about was when the next shoe sale was.  Now I have to choose which outfit wont show blood stains, and what shoes are comfortable to run across graveyards in.

Will I ever get to choose a boyfriend who just wants to be with me?  One who I want to be with?

Or will I choose to tell Mom one final lie and let one random vampire have his "one good day"?

Tormented Soul

"Let Me Rest In Peace
Let Me Get Some Sleep"

How those words burn true.  Peace is something that's ceased to exist and sleep brings nightmares.

The people around, who should have been friends, seem to be too busy with their own worries to help.  Maybe even too busy to care.

If only Heaven didn't seem so unattainable then maybe that all elusive peace could be restored.  Or, maybe Buffy just needed to realise that she wasn't alone.  Spike knew what terrors were out there and he would help her regain her peace if only she gave him a chance.

Here's another set of icons ... some good challenges, although I got a bit lost with the Cat set ... still I shall submit them as they are ... and say I'm happy with the rest!!  They are for round 17 of whoverse20in20 ... and do not contain anything from the last Christmas special.

I did say last week that I had written a drabble - yes it needed a bit of tweaking ... but mabel_marsters  was, as ever, a huge star!

This is written on the last night before the final battle in "Chosen" - and are Spike's thoughts as he sits "waiting for tomorrow".




“Waiting For Tomorrow”


I believe we can defeat the First Evil tomorrow. I have no doubts about that, at all.

After all, we now have a new plan. One that Buffy has given us. A positive hope for a better, more peaceful future.

When it comes down to it, everything is because of her. That one girl in all the world, my enemy, my partner, the slayer.

My love for her is everything .

I learned it when I was a child, now over a century later, I finally believe the words.

“Faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.”

I am stunned to see that "Spike, The Watcher" has received another nomination ... This time it is at the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards .... Check it out here -  SunnyD Round 22

Thank you to the kind, or should I say mad person who did that ... it has made my day, my week ... and possibly even my year!

Earlier in the week, I posted that I was doing the drabble meme, and one of the requests was for a Drabble about Giles, for alwaysjbj 

Here it is - set during season 4, "A New Moon" and is 100 words (if you don't count the title!) ... and is un-beta'd!!


Giles, The Watcher

Allowing the noise to fade, he realised how much his words were true.

“19, it’s hard to believe.”

When she was assigned to him he thought that his task would be hard and brutally short. Teaching her to use various weapons, and how to identify assorted demons.

Slowly he accepted her friends into his care, knowing that it made things easier for her, but so much harder for him.

Now he sits and faces his hardest task, to see her growing up and enjoying her life is wonderful, but it does mean that he is now watching from a distance

When I wrote my seasonal_spuffy  story I said that there was more to come ... well, there is, just not today!

I also promised myself I would write more ... well here is my first ever "proper" drabble, that I actually wrote during the lunchbreak of the osteopathic conference on Saturday ... so, as well as making some life-changing decisions, I also thought about Spike! Which was the more important I'll leave you to guess!

Set during BtVS, season 7 - between Showtime and Potential.
